Gilded Nesting

As designers, it was a gratifying experience to create a home out of an apartment for a family of five – a couple, two teenage kids and their grandfather. Our pre-design discussions dived deep in understanding each family member, integrating their needs, desires and vision into the program. Upon reaching a consensus, we froze on a proposal that enables diversified functions, while tying all spaces together in fluid cohesion. A palette of subtle hues becomes the backdrop for a symphony of geometric lines, gilded metallic finishes and occasional pops of color. The home came together seamlessly, with something special for every member of the family.
