Studio A'17, in collaboration with sustainability analyst and architect Tanvi Bobhate, is proud to present the high-rise redevelopment project for Greenland Co-op Housing in Mumbai. This innovative project is designed to balance modern living with sustainable practices, ensuring a harmonious and eco-friendly residential environment.

Total Built-up Area: 31,400 sqft

​

Plot Area: 10,350 sqft

​

Residential Units: 24 members

​

Flat Typologies: 3 different types, ranging from 615 sqft to 950 sqft

​

Structure: 3 flats per floor

​

Commercial Spaces: Double-height commercial space on the ground floor

​

Design Objectives:

​

  1. Residential Layout: Create three distinct flat typologies to cater to the needs of 24 members, ensuring optimal use of space with 3 flats per floor.

  2. Commercial Integration: Design a double-height commercial space on the ground floor to enhance the building’s functionality and commercial appeal.

  3. Sustainability Focus: Collaborate with Tanvi Bobhate to incorporate sustainable practices, striving for energy efficiency and comfortable indoor conditions.

  4. Regulatory Compliance: Navigate DCPR rules and regulations, FSI consumption, and plot restrictions to achieve a well-balanced and compliant design.

  5. Purposeful Elevation Design: Develop an elevation design that not only enhances the building’s aesthetic appeal but also provides effective shading for the building openings.

 

Sustainability Approach:

  • Sun Path Analysis: Study the sun path diagram and surrounding influences to determine optimal shading solutions for windows and building openings.

  • Energy Efficiency: Design elevations that reduce energy consumption by providing natural shading, leading to comfortable indoor environments.

  • Regulation Adherence: Balance sustainable design practices with compliance to local building codes and regulations, ensuring a feasible and eco-friendly development.

 

Through this redevelopment, Studio A'17 aims to create a sustainable and aesthetically pleasing living space that meets the needs of its residents while aligning with the developers' vision. The Greenland Co-op Housing project is a testament to our commitment to innovative and responsible architectural design.
