Divya Darpan Co-op Housing Redevelopment

Studio A'17 has been commissioned by KRPL to design a high-rise redevelopment project in Mumbai, named Divya Darpan Co-op Housing. This ambitious project involves reimagining the living space for 43 members with diverse needs, creating a modern and functional residential environment.

Flat Typologies: 10 different types, ranging from 300 sqft to 835 sqft

Structure: Two separate wings - one designated for sale and the other for existing members

Commercial Spaces: Integration of members' commercial shops into the building frontage

Design Objectives:

  1. Dual Wing Structure: Create distinct yet harmonious wings for sale units and member units, ensuring privacy and exclusivity for existing members while optimizing the saleable areas.

  2. Flat Typologies: Design 10 diverse flat typologies to accommodate varying needs and preferences, from compact 300 sqft units to spacious 835 sqft apartments.

  3. Commercial Integration: Seamlessly incorporate commercial shops owned by members into the building frontage, enhancing accessibility and visibility.

  4. Maximize Efficiency: Utilize the 54,000 sqft built-up area effectively to provide ample living space and amenities within the constraints of the 11,800 sqft plot.

  5. Community-Centric Design: Foster a sense of community through thoughtful design, incorporating communal areas and shared facilities to enhance the living experience.

  6. Aesthetic Appeal: Ensure the design reflects modern architectural aesthetics while being functional and sustainable.
